Hong Kong Haemophilia Society cordially invites the public to click into hkhscampaign.com to register the time and mileage achieved by cycling between 23rd December 2021 to 17th April 2022 (World Haemophilia Day). The accumulated results will reflect the support rendered by the city to patients suffering from haemophilia.

Haemophilia is an inherited genetic disorder. Lacking the clotting factor in their blood, haemophiliacs’ body would not be able to stop bleeding if hurt, and it is possible for life-threatening complications to develop in severe cases. As haemophiliacs are prone to developing spontaneous haemorrhage in joints that may lead to permanent joint damage, many of them have been prohibited from doing certain sports, cycling for instance, since young. However, with the advancement of technology and the availability of preventive measures and appropriate treatment nowadays, haemophiliacs can live an active and vibrant lifestyle, and enjoy life to the fullest.

During the event date, participants can choose to cycle outdoors, cycle indoors, or experience the virtual bicycle set up by Hong Kong Haemophilia Society at MOSTown.
